American teenagers and self
identity
Surveys completed by American
teenagers suggest that deciding on a career is one of the central themes of
adolescent identity development and that engaging in part-time work during high
school will help them with this aspect of identity development. Based on the
readings, what are the positive and negative aspects of teenage employment? Are
there other methods that teenagers can use, outside of working, to reach
identity achievement?
