Theories of Crime and Terrorism
Choosing terrorism crime,
addressed the following:
1) Define the terrorism. Include
both the legal definition and others as necessary.
2) Summarize demographics of the
terrorism for both the perpetrators and the victim. Cover the following:
Gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic
characteristics, and other relevant diversity issues.
3) Among the theories;
Differential Opportunity, Anomie, Reaction Formation, and Social Control,
Choose two theories and apply those theories to the terrorism. Be sure to cover
the following:
a) Explain the type of each theory
in detail.
b) Discuss the development of each
theory and the main theorists associated with them.
c) Compare and contrast the two
theories of crime selected. Discuss the ways in which they fit with the crime
and the specific demographics associated with terrorism.
What is your personal hypothesis
of the cause of the terrorism? This can be doing using the theories you have
chosen. What is your own “combination theory”?
