Annually, the American Psychological Association (APA) has a nationwide survey to examine the state of stress across the country and understand its impact. Please go to the website (http://www.apa.org/news/press/releases/stress/ (Links to an external site.)) and review the results from the most recent survey (2015). You can click on the bullets to review information about the survey including report highlights, a stress snapshot, and the full report. After reviewing this information, identify how discrimination, culture, or a particular social factor (e.g., poverty, job, etc.) can impact a person’s experience of stress (e.g., think about how it may relate to a specific group’s treatment/interactions with others, culture’s belief system, customs/values, environment/living arrangement, social support system, socio-economic status, access to health care and other resources, etc.). Use information in your text (pages 433-435), from personal experiences, and findings of the APA stress survey to develop your response.
