Ethics and Technology
In a rapidly evolving world where technology is playing an
increasingly important role, more, and more ethical issues have arisen. We’ve
looked at such issues in self-driving cars, with the Internet, genetics and
reproduction, among other things.
Your task is to research an ethical issue in an area where
technology is developing rapidly and report on the complexities of the issue.
You may choose an area such as:
· Transportation
· Entertainment
· International Politics
· Global Economies
· Space Technologies
Your report should address the following questions:
1. What is the main ethical dilemma in your case and what
makes this dilemma an ethical issue?
2. What exactly is it about your case that is so
controversial?
3. Why is this ethical dilemma so difficult to resolve?
4. What ethical theories, concepts, and principles can be
applies to your case?
5. How do you think the main ethical issue in your case
should be resolved?
6. Are there any other ethical dilemmas that your case gives
rise to? If so, what are they?
Your research report should be ONLY THREE PAGES (Double
Spaced).
Use the rubric on the back page to guide you for the
purposes of evaluation. This assignment is worth 40 marks
Remember to reference your ideas from the textbook,
articles, and other sources using MLA Format. Your citations do not count in
the page limit set out above. Also create a title page.
