5 21.7 Gun Control
An October 2011 Gallup Poll asked a sample of 1005 adults whether they thought there should or should not be a law that would ban the possession of handguns except by the police and other authorized persons. Only 261 of the respondents thought there should be such a law. Although the samples in national polls are not SRSs, they are similar enough that our method gives approximately correct confidence intervals.

(e) Gallup announced a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points for this poll result. How well does your work in (b) agree with this margin of error?
