1. Identifyone legal issue relevant to your area of nursing
practice (or an area you would like to pursue in the future). Describe how this
issue is relevant to your day-to-day practice. This is the introduction to your
paper and is the first section of your paper and does not need a heading. You
may use first person for this section of your paper. As a reminder, the title
of your paper should be at the top of this page in normal unbolded font (see
sample APA paper).
2. Researchthis issue by reviewing scholarly nursing and
related literature. Review this literature and discuss it.Note: If you do not
choose high quality recent nursing sources as specified in the Reference
criteria, your paper will likely fall short in this section as well. This
section should start with the heading, Review of Literature.
a. References
i. You will need to have at least 5 references, three of
which must be references that are not required course textbooks/materials.
ii. Five references must be within the past 5 years
iii. Additional references may be outside the 5 year time
period
iv. Wikipedia and other resources (newspapers, non-medical
journals) that are used by the general public are not considered high quality
references but may be used as additional references if appropriate to your
paper.
3. Analyze this issue using the literature you reviewed to
support your position and draw conclusions as to how this issue affects
day-to-day nursing practice. You must support your stance with literature,
rather than opinions.
4. Provide a short conclusion /summary paragraph that
summarizes the research and finding with your nursing practice.
5. Be sure paper is in APA format which includes a title
page with the correct font, running head, page numbers, the body of the paper
should have correct level headings, in-text citations, and a properly formatted
reference page is the last page of your paper. An abstract is not needed.
6. This should be a heavily researched paper that includes
an introduction that clearly expresses the relevance to your personal work
setting/experience especially in the opening paragraph and conclusion. This may
include first person in the first and last paragraph but otherwise the paper
should be objective and avoid personal pronouns and opinion.
