The state legislature has met and decided that the
bulk of the budget cuts will come from the criminal justice system. The head of
the Department of Corrections in Centervale, Eric Clayton, has asked you to
help him prepare a presentation for the state legislature. This has been a
tough budget year, and Clayton must be prepared to explain to the legislature
how each dollar is spent on prison programs. Clayton has asked you to research
the prison programs offered in two other state prison systems so that he can
see how Centervale’s programs compare.

You decide that the best approach is to research
the prison system in the state where you reside and explore the programs that
are offered.

Tasks:

Select two of the programs your state uses and
explain them by addressing the following questions for each program:

web pages and create references for the web pages that link back to your
in-text citations.
