The Research Paper is the
secondary research discussed in the LAP definition and the LAP Project is the
primary research, which is noted on the LAP contract that indicates (i.e.
Interview, Observation, Survey, etc…). The Research Paper (secondary research)
is the rudiment for the LAP project which is actually a Literature Review on
prior research done on the student’s topic of interest. This research can be
both quantitative and/or qualitative; however I would prefer at least one
quantitative study to exemplify scientific research in the area of the
students’ interest. This format dissuades the student away from personal
narratives and autobiographies and guides them toward academic scholarly
writing research paper. Through utilization of secondary research prepare a 7-8
page research paper on an area relative to the topic you will explore in your
Life Arts Project. (cover page and reference pages are not included).
