Consensus, Constancy,
Distinctiveness in Behavior
Describe a situation that a person
may have experienced in which the cause of a person’s behavior was uncertain.
Explain how the person might have used the concepts of consensus, constancy,
and distinctiveness to determine whether the behavior in this situation was
internally or externally caused.
Then, describe situations when a
person have experienced the fundamental attribution error (correspondence
bias), the actor-observer effect, and the self-serving bias.
For each example, describe the
consequences of the attribution patterns.
