Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Cognitive Development
Please help with the following questions.
1) If a mother knowingly ingests a quantity of alcohol that
causes her child to develop Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), is she guilty of
child abuse? Why or Why not?
2) Piaget’s theory states that all children progress through
all of the discrete stages of cognitive development in order and without
skipping any. Do you agree with this theory? Do you know any children who seem
to contradict this theory?
