During the first class, you have chosen a specific product
which you are going to export to a nation which the professor has assigned to
you. Following this, please carry out
the following tasks:
TASK I. Download the
Trade Policy of your nation from which the product or article originates from.
• Summarize
what the national trade policy’s main objectives or goals are.
• Describe
your product from a technical perspective, ensuring you use the correct
nomenclature for the components or ingredients.
Please endure that you describe the manufacturing process (brief), uses
and functions of the product or article and instructions of how to use /not use
this product. Also indicate whether it
is apt for consumption, for under-age people, infants, etc.
TASK II.
Research market information on the country which you shall
be exporting to (country profile, industry, GDP, demographics …)
• Analyse
the findings and indicate what are the main political, financial, legislative
and environmental barriers or risks for market penetration of your product /
article.
• List 3
main competitors and describe their market penetration (market share),
strengths, weakness, price strategy (if this information is available),
distribution (types of outlets where product is sold on to final consumer)
TASK III.
• Briefly
describe your marketing mix adapted to entry market.
• Identify
end consumer and possible messages that will generate interest for your
product.
• Pricing
strategy. Entry price (promo price?)
Criteria for volume sales (minimum
quantity …)
TASK IV.
• Trade
shows, trade missions, inverse trade missions or country visit. Choose two options and explain why you
believe they will be the most efficient.
TASK V. Logistics,
Incoterms, Insurance …
• Choose
what you believe to be the best logistics mode
• Identify
the cheapest and fastest logistical mode (Timing, frequency, route….)
• Obtain
quote
• Insurance
costs
TASK VI. Complete the
