Week 6 discussion
This weeks readings cover country reports on terrorism put
out by the US State Department. Read
through these reports and think about their implications.
1. Do these reports give you a sense that ‘terrorism’,
whether state or other forms, constitutes the new form of warfare? That it will
eclipse all previous ways we have thought about the nature of warfare and the
objective of ‘states’.
2. To what extent do
you believe that cyber-warfare will constitute the frontline of new forms of
state terrorism and its practices and methods?
3. Are we in for a
period of continuing warfare and violence from both terrorist movements and
state terrorism? and this may last for
another hundred years; that there is no end in sight?
4. If this is the
case, what are its political, moral and human implications?
