Human agency is defined as the ability change or adapt to one’s surroundings. In the
PowerPoint lecture there are 5 capitals that are combined in different ways and
degrees to create human agency. List and explain each capital and then explain how
the capitals are used to adapt to the environment.
Then explain how modernization/industrialization affected families of European and
African origins in the US, as well as recent immigrants to the US? What are the root
social, economic, and political causes of changes for each group? (Think about how
social, political, and economic forces have influenced families differently via the
different types of capitals) (analysis)
