Language and Vocab Thematic Unit
Create a thematic unit. Select a social studies or science topic. Select three objectives for language development, and describe three activities that will satisfy each objective using your theme. An example follows:
· Content Area: Science Theme: Creatures That Live in the Sea
· Objective for Language Development: Develop new vocabulary
· Activity: Read Swimmy by Leo Lionni. Ask the children to remember two new words they hear in the story. After reading, list words that the children mention on a chart, and discuss their meaning.
