Liberties” in his book? For whom and in what context? I am looking for
specific cases, like the Palmer Raids.
2) What are the parallels to the present in terms of civil
liberties and crackdowns post 9/11? Where are they and are they
constitutionally justified according to any of the Foner parallels?
3) In an example from the not so distant past, how does this
play out with debates over the flag burning amendment that failed in the Senate
by one vote in 2006?
