IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The total submission for
this assignment should consist of two files:

1.
Use a Word Document (.docx) for
the Case Study Report and the Journal Entries of your SAP use.

2.
Use a second Word document only
for the SAP Exercise 1 answers, collating by cutting and pasting the required
sections of the exercises.

Instructions for
submission:

1.
Submit the file of the FINAL
version of your Case Study to Turnitin to receive an originality report.

2.
If the Turnitin report stands
at more than ten percent, you should revise the applicable sections before
submitting. Even if it is below ten percent but there is a significant match
with the work of another student, some revision is advisable. We will check the
Turnitin reports.

3.
Then submit the Word document
containing the report and the Word document containing the SAP exercise file electronically
by the due date via the Assignment link on the study desk (not EASE). If you experience issues with the submission
process please:

SECTION A (35 marks)

Case Study

In-text citation and references (or sources) using the Harvard
referencing style are required for this section

This
section is based on the case study, “Two Short Cases: OilCO & ExploreCO” on
page 114 of your textbook.

As
an external consultant, you have been hired by GlobalOIL to evaluate the
effectiveness of the processes both companies undertook in implementing their
ERP systems and present your evaluation in report format to the CEO Joe
Warners-Brown.

You
have been asked to use the format given in the file “AnalysingCaseStudy.docx”.

Using
the knowledge covered in Module 1-4 and supplemented by at least 4 academically
sound external sources:

1.
Your report should address and discuss the following:

a.
Compare the two organisations in terms of their
business operations and activities.

b.
Document the reasons the case study listed as
objectives for adopting the ERP system.

c.
Describe the process and compare how much each
company had to change to adopt the ERP system.
In your description discuss what would have been some of the drivers for
modifying the existing business processes in the two organisations.

d.
Comparing Table 4.6 and 4.7 using your understanding
from Module 1-4 and Appendix A, explain what the critical success factor and
which position (Appendix A page 118) was critical to the success of the
implementation.

e.
In your conclusion discuss the aspects of the
implementation that could have been better implemented or handled to minimise
the reported issues.

2.
Your report should be succinct and clear to the
point addressing the above points precisely.

NOTE:You should restrict your report only to topics
covered in Chapters 1- 4 and not extend it to cover the full implementation
process. The textbook questions should
not be used to structure the report but may help you consider the questions
asked here.

Length:
1500-2000 words.

SECTION B (15 marks)

Complete the
SAP exercise as directed in tutorials 3-5.

Keep a journal
of your activities and your experience in learning to use SAP

In a word or
refined text file, submit the outputs to the SAP exercise and a copy of your
journal for the first exercise.

In the
allocation of marks, your inputs in the SAP GBI database (as shown in a SAP
report of your activity by User ID), your submitted journal and SAP exercise
outputs will be taken into account.
Please note, no marks will be given if the SAP report generated does not
produce a record of any activity by your User ID).
