Final Application Essay
You will write an application essay
that includes library research as well as self-exploration. The essay should
contain two sections.
There MUST be Logical and
Smooth Flowing Transitions and Relationships among Sections of the Written
Report. You should show your
understanding of the questions. To support your opinion you can use quotes.
Quotes should be not more than 30% of your writing (less is better!!!). Be aware that Wikipedia, Investopedia, and
other on-line dictionaries and encyclopedias are not verifiable sources of
reliable information. The responses where these sources are used will not be
counted. Acceptable sources of the information are: research papers, newspaper
articles, and books.
- The first section, based on research from a
minimum of five current (2012 – 2014),scholarly sources
(using proper in-text citations as well as a bibliography in the APA
format), should address
the importance of listening and the role the importance of listening plays in CPA
professionas well as the kind of listening training conducted in
the CPA professions.Online resources should be credible.

- In the second section, you will
outline (and explain) a comprehensive, personalized, and sophisticated
list of 12 criteria for effective listening, drawing on all you have
learned during this course, such as discriminative listening,
comprehensive listening, Therapeutic listening, critical listening, and
appreciative listening, (and including a description for each individual
criterion). All 5 purposes must be covered in your
essay [discriminative, comprehensive, therapeutic, critical, and
appreciative].
The application essay should be
well-organized, with headings and subheadings. Your submission must include in-text
citations as well as a bibliography. This paper should be 2500-3000 words (not
including the bibliography).
